Introducing Computational Perspectives
So far, our simulations and the accompanying discussions have focused on the contribution of traditional economic perspectives to the question of information's influence on organizational productivity. As we mentioned earlier, however, homo economicus is not the only species that has evolved in the environment of the organizational theorists' minds. Let us switch gears, and take a look at homo computicus - a being that seeks better procedures and efficient data, behaving much like a piece of self-aware computer software.
